Shopping trip!

I had my first shopping trip on the GR8 today and it seemed apt that I went shopping for some bungee cords for her front carrier. Truth be told, I wanted to take her out for an extended run and try her out on a few hills. All I can say is that power climbs in RPM have stood me in good stead. You just have to stay in the seat and pump your legs - slow and sure wins the race (although I did get passed by a jogger on the Dobbies hill - so in effect, she won the race)

I went to Halfords and was most surprised that they had no bike parking facility at all. The shop is in an a "out of town" complex so you woud have thought it a perfect place to encourage cyclists to come. The country does seem enthused with all things two wheeled at the moment, perhaps time for the government to invest in some decent infrastructure for cyclists. Proper segregated cycling lanes would be great but a start would be putting in decent cycle parking facilities at all shopping centres!
