Meet the ancestors

The Horniman Museum in Forest Hill has an excellent natural history gallery and one of the best collections of skeletons and (dare I say) taxidermy, in London.

Stuffed animals make me feel sad, but the comparative skeletons are absolutely fascinating (although you always home the animal died of natural causes).

I'd been trying to visit for years but never made it because the journey to south east London from where I live in the north west of the capital, is a hike.

Far too many small feral children around for my liking, otherwise a good visit and a nice sunset (see extra).

A lovely Indian dinner at Paul and Anne's afterwards made my day.
