Serious playing
Once a week a few of us meet with our cameras. Using the Emma Davies book A Year With My Camera we are working through improving our camera skills. I tried this two years ago but didn’t move forward after the basic manual settings. It’s much more fun in a small group, the size varies as to whose around and Applegate is a very good teacher. I can hear her laughing.
Today we looked at ISO and enjoyed an hour or so using the setting along with Aperture and shutter speed. It’s always amusing, hilarious at times and certainly instructive. Above is Applegate and my neighbour, (we haven’t yet convinced her to start blipping) they just happened to be the focus of my morning. (Although not necessarily in focus).
As usual the chat was wide ranging before and after the session with the subject of gluten free playing a big part. I’ve been experimenting and generally the results are more than acceptable, today testing scones and a loaf of bread. Definitely better then bought gf, yesterday muffins and polenta and a sponge cake before that. I can see the next move will be to join weight watchers. I’m happy if any reader has a good recipe to share. Note to self, jot down my own, very happy to share thoughts.
Little black girl was successfully speyed yesterday, she’s full of beans today, not ideal with stitches. We have had a strange time here with Grey boy to the vet for a vaccination, all went well and outside black cat now speyed (a female, we had assumed our visiting feline to be a male) and currently in the care of the wondrous Cats Protection person J and her partner - blipper Mostly Mull, they will also try to tame her, the cat is a beauty with gorgeous eyes. Our grey boy was really spooked by the visiting black cat, he is just settling down again and she was only in the house a few hours. We now hope to regain some normality after a strange week of cats and flour.
