Leaving Harbour

Spent early part of the day getting the Christmas decorations
down from the loft and reading.
I nipped out late afternoon to catch a blip of the evening coast.
I had not really thought of the implications of the storm and the very high tide.
Greyhope Road was closed and a huge sea was running.
Crashing over most of my usual locations.
Anyway, I was down at the edge of the harbour mouth
in a safe location taking lots of shots of breaking waves.
I could see there was really dramatic surf on the main beach
but too far away in the light,
as usual right time, wrong location and no time to move.
Anyway, ended up facing into the harbour,
taking shots of the boats heading for the open sea.
The harbour basin was remarkably calm,
considering the maelstrom that was beyond the breakwaters.
