Shields Up

We had a lazy start to the day. Then we went to the studio to unload all the stuff from the car and stack it away.

We came home via Tadcaster to collect a couple of bits from the supermarket. After all the rain yesterday the river level is extremely high (see extra). There is a lot of flooded land around but thankfully at the moment the town centre has been spared. However, the supermarket was putting up flood barriers.
 
When the river flooded a few years ago and the bridge collapsed, the supermarket was flooded out. They had to throw everything away and clean the store completely before restocking. Hopefully these barriers will keep the water at bay this time.
