Drift-tube skeletons

I found these amongst my father's possessions (my stepmother is moving house). I have no idea what to do with them: they're no use to anyone but I can't bear to throw them out as I can remember him working on them. I'm also not completely sure they don't have whatever source was used for ionising the air, although I think not. I suppose they are at least small, unlike the furniture & vast piles of books.
