Nominative Determinism

Yet another day of very strong winds. I've said it before and I'll say it again - we've got to stop naming these storms. Naming a thing confers a power upon that thing. Every little jumped-up weather system approaching across the Atlantic now aspires to have a name of its own. They get ahead of themselves and want to show off. There are more and more of them. I'm sure the weather records will prove me right.
