The Light Shineth in Darkness

After the darkness of yesterday's tragedy in Connecticut and the details unfolding by the hour today, it was a blessing to be among those gathering at K and M's annual Hanukkah party this evening -- an open house full of candlelight and latkes, people of all ages streaming in with food and drink to share, hugs and laughter, quiet conversation, old friends and new friends, good will abounding.

This is America, too.
