Happy Birthday, Will

We made a run to Sebastopol today to clear yet another load of stuff out of the farmhouse. If this us simplifying, it sure is complicated! It was really cold as we shoveled stuff into Dana's minivan and my car, and our hands were pretty nonfunctional from cold by the time we called it quits and headed home.

The afternoon was spent warming up and trying to figure out how to fit still more crap of our things into the house. We can't really put much away until we have more shelves, so most of it got shoved into the garage or the closets--something I was hoping to avoid.

Monday is Will's 15th birthday so we all went out to dinner to celebrate. He chose a very sophisticated steakhouse and I was proud of their good manners and relative patience . Will's new Samsung Galaxy phone was a definite asset ( which he kept tucked beneath the table as he texted and played video games). We traded stories with the boys about what they could remember from when they were very little as well as what we remembered. It 's lovely to be
close enough to share birthdays and holidays and stories.

We drove home through our new town in the rain and the Christmas lights and felt that we have made a good choice.
