Orangerie Reflection
Today we visited the Musée de l'Orangerie (at the Concorde end of the Tuileries) for the Paris version of a wonderful exhibition on August Macke and Franz Marc. We had seen it on Christmas Eve at the show's first venue, at the Neue Galerie in New York. Here the space was larger, with a substantial number of additional works. A lovely second chance, the more so since both Pons brothers (Didier & Thierry) and their wives (Nine & Annick) accompanied us (here they are with Marylee in Massachusetts in 2015). The Orangerie has a permanent collection, highlighted by eight large Monet Water Lilies; it includes the Picassos in the blip (the reflection is from the glass enclosing a sculpture out of sight to the left).
Posted next day, after a late night with the six of us for dinner at our apartment.
