Floating Hellebores

Hellebores are wonderful plants. They flower very early, last a long time and have a great range of colours. Their only drawback is that they hang their heads. Certainly not in shame.

That being so I like to bring a few into the house and float them in a bowl. I am particularly fond of this colour.

Two postscripts.
1. Herbert is most grateful for good wishes for his 100th. From so many Blippers. He is, I am told, in very good spirits after what must have been a wonderful but surely tiring day.

2. I am beginning to think that yesterday’s Wasp Beetle was not brought back from Scotland. It went outside but we have now found another one in another room. Perhaps a colony has taken up residence chez nous. We shall see.
