Mount Pirongia

Another hot day in the North Island. We got going relatively early, and walked up to the world’s highest Kahikatea tree. Quite tall at its 66.5m!! It was lovely walking through all the native bush. After the walk we went home for lunch, then through to Hamilton Gardens. What a treat!
We stayed for dinner in town, and had a drink at a great new bar, Mr Pickles by the river.
