Music for Youth

This kid had an amazing day today. Music for Youth 2019.

She was leader of the clarinets in her windband in the afternoon (20 ish of them). her conductor came up to tell me how amazing she’d been. She was chosen to collect their award from the adjudicators.

She’s been invited to join the new double reed group on her bassoon in a few weeks time. The Head of Music Service has also invited her to the double reed day next term. The double reed faculty have bounced around saying how excited they are to have her in the ranks of bassoon now.,

The oboe advisor from NCO Northerlies came to MFY, and not realising it was Katie (who is a northerlie) picked her out from the band and said to the conductors how fantastic she is.

She played beautifully with her other county ensemble in the evening.

To top it all off, in the middle of this we discovered she’s got to final auditions for the Northern Ballet Academy! And she went to dancing for the first time in a week because she’s finally feeling a little better!
