Icy Shadows

More wonderings along the shoreline, taking advantage of nice light at the end of another sunny day. Very difficult shooting conditions with the high dynamic range. I bracketed most shots, but often only used one, it is amazing how much you can recover from raw files.

I liked the way the reeds out of shot cast shadows across the ice and the graduation of light from left to right over the image. All the little bits of things frozen in ice remind me of fossils found in rocks at the beach. Only took a winter to create these, not a million years!

The extra shows a rock and a feather in ice, the latter I assume is goose since they have returned on mass to feed on the newly exposed grass by the lake.
