“Slug” in action!
A very long day today. Mr T was told he was on the afternoon list with a 14:30 slot. The waiting is very hard, and as the time gets nearer it is worse. Luckily he is largely a laid back person but even he was anxious. Aside from not being told he had been moved to ITU we really can’t fault the care he has been given.
The musicians (see extra) were touring the ward playing some semi-lively folk music (not to the taste of all the “guests”) but it took our mind off the wait as 14:30 had come and gone.
My main Blip is of the mechanical slug in action. It stopped because I was in the door way and as it is moving it says warning, automated vehicle. When it changes direction the opposite light goes out. I wish I could post the movie of it getting into the lift.
Just after 15:00 they took him down to the medirooms to do the endoscopy. They are using a spy glass which gives them new tools to seek and destroy all gall stones, hopefully for good this time.
They decided a general anaesthetic was safer than sedation for him, and it can take 15-90 minutes for the procedure, so a nervous wait for me. They are going to let me know when he is waking up so I can be with him in th recovery room. They promised to take good care of him.
