Walking Again
We managed to get up to Grantown upon Spey for two nights, before needing to back for important family things this week.
We spent a whole day walking (10 miles) in The Abernethy forest, which is the largest woodland in Britain. In bits the walk felt very remote, and it took us right into the edge of the Cairngorm mountains on The Nethy Bridge side rather than from Aviemore side where we would normally walk.
The woodland is being beautifully looked after by the RSPB and this priemeval forest is regenerating very well, with many small Caledonian pine trees coming through.
