MONOPTEROS

in the English garden in Munich. A monopteros is a circular colonnade supporting a roof but without any walls. This one was build by Leo von Klenze for King Ludwig I.
Piet Hein was awake at seven in the morning and I a minute later.
We had a douche and brought our luggage to the Railway station.
Then we walked into the city. We went to the Viktualienmarket, drank our espresso. From there to the Feldherrenhalle (see extra photo) and into the English Garden.
The weather was cold, but there was a blue sky and a warm sunshine.
We sat at a bench and enjoyed the surroundings.
We walked with a large bow back to the station and our ICE train came and brought us to Goettingen.
From Goettingen we sat in our local train, but in Bodenfelde we all had to leave the train, because of a defect right out the station.
No possibility to reach our town. We walked into Bodenfelde and there was a hairdressers shop open, and the two ladies who were about to close it, helped us to phone a person with a mini cab, and when the driver arrived, it was obvious that we had a big luck, because he was willing to bring us home.
This was the end of our splendid holiday.

I'll give more silly hearts tonight to tookie, RHelena, Crispin25, Muguet and loveeveryminute.
