Nancy Drew...

...the first “series” books I ever read. I devoured every single Nancy Drew book they had in the school library, then hounded my mom to buy the next ones for me. She didn’t, as it was an extra expense we couldn’t afford, but said we’d go see if the public library had them. Often they didn’t,  so I had to branch off into the Trixie Beldon and Cherry Ames books! I STILL love to read, as did my mom & my grandma. I spotted these at an antique store my sister & I stopped at after we’d met for breakfast this morning. One of our brothers was supposed to come too, & was bringing our soon to be 94 y. o. aunt with him, but she’d gotten sick during the night.  Our cousin had taken her to the Emergency Room where they decided to keep her for observation. So when I got home I called her to see how she was doing, & she told me she was “highly insulted” that the staff had asked her what assisted living facility she lived in. She said “it’s extremely rude” to assume, based on her age, that she’s not capable of caring for herself......She was definitely feeling better!! :)))
