Inside Greyfriars.
Whist in Reading today, I took a quick look in Greyfriars church as I hadn't been there for many years. It is a very well used church and has been sensitively updated inside, it looks magnificent. It has a very impressive history. It was a Franciscan church in 1311 and since then has been used as a town hall in the 1500's also, a hospital, a 'house of correction' and a prison. By the mid 19th century it was in danger of collapse but was restored in 1863 and is now a lively and welcoming town centre church.
