Dreadful planning proposal

On Wednesday went to an exhibition of a redevelopment proposal by a joint council and private developer. To build a 5 storey building just behind the goalpost and stretching across the background.
Have started a Facebook site to garner support to challenge the proposal and share information. Have since discovered in 2 council documents that the area is designated 'protected'.  Email to local councillor and his response states he'll investigate. Also extremely limited publicity which is likely to yield limited public response and hence go-ahead. Hopefully common sense will prevail and the space will be protected.
