goose 


(took up a big wooden "pot" on our tiny float.  hissed at me with great hissing energy.  about an hour later goose was gone - and i realized he/she had built a nest by taking "cuttings" from the plant in the left of photo.  about an hour later goose still not present and I gingerly lifted the greenery because my research said they cannot move an egg unless nest is at ground level.  bingo, egg is there, pushed into the soil with greens over.  will be interesting to see how this develops!)

(nest is maybe 4 feet from husband's work bench and on a corner that we have to walk by on our narrow walkway around the houseboat)
