Passageway

There's a lot to see in this passageway between these two buildings.  I like the colour of the brickwork and the archway at the end.  The white section protruding out of the first floor looks a bit strange and I'd love to know why it was designed that way.  Lastly, the facia of the building in the foreground on the left hand side is covered in what looks like an off white tile; I'm not sure why the brickwork was covered but it creates an interesting contrast with the bricks.
