They call them Rocky Mountains

We took a short drive to an area called Silvertown in Simi Valley. See the xtra for more detail on what the history. A lot of early cowboy movies were filmed here - now it is pretty much abandoned with a few foundations and walls left where there used to be buildings. There still is an Allied studio backlot nearby (see extra photo) with city street mock ups. A lot of nice hiking trails in the area, and fantastic views of the giant boulders decorating the mountains - hoping they decide to stay in place while we walk past them. Can definitely understand why these are called the rockies.

When we were very quiet, I think we heard "Hi-yo Silver, away!"
