Admiring the Yodas
A long time friend of Susan’s and her husband was down in London for a few days. Our current redecorations prevented them from staying with us we went up to spend the day with them.
We walked miles, from Victoria past Buck House, through St James’s Park on to Horseguards, Whitehall to Trafalgar Square stopping for lunch at the crypt at St Martin’s in the Field (where we had lunch with blippers last year)
We watched the many standing statues of Yodas In Trafalgar Square. I learned afterwards that these are often Eastern Europeans and that times can aggressively defend lucrative pitches.
After lunch we went on to Covent Garden, Lincoln’s Inn and the Inns of Court ending up at the Fullers Inns of Court pub enjoying a pint or so of London Pride.
From there we went on a wild goose chase looking for Garfunkel’s on Southampton Row which turned out not to be at No 84 as we were expecting. We found another on Tottenham Court Road and enjoyed a reasonable meal made even more reasonable by having two Tastecards.
Time to go our separate ways. We walked back to Victoria, a further 2 miles or so bringing the grand today to just under 10 miles when you also count walking to and from Bearsted Station.
