Snapper Island

At just 1.65 hectares Snapper Island is the smallest island in Sydney Harbour. Deliberately flattened and shaped to resemble the layout of a naval ship, it was used as a nautical training facility during the 1930s. The island is yet to be formally transferred by the Department of Finance to the Harbour Trust and, at this time, remains closed to the public.

The construction company in charge of renovations asked for some photographs to chart their work and we undertook a photo survey.

Snapper Island - a good name for the new Port Appin!
