After the storm
The beach at Lunan Bay was strewn with a mixture of sea-life and debris today after Friday's stormy weather ... trees, grass, starfish, shells, crabs, seaweed, an empty lobster pot, rope, a glove, a boot and many smaller fragments of man-made stuff. The waves had cut a high new edge into the base of the dunes.
I put as many of the creatures back into the water as I could, and collected some driftwood and a small blue bottle without it's top.
As the soft light of the late afternoon reflected off the wet sand, the colours of the sky, clouds, sea, spray and sand merged.
On the headland in the distance my woodburning stove would provide a warm welcome home.
