Bureaucratic lunch

Civil servants are unusual creatures. Whereas the image of them tends to be of grey beings, working in grey surroundings, doing grey jobs, the reality is hugely different. 

I have known Bureaucrat X for almost 10 years now, we were colleagues during my imprisonment in Gulag Y, and in addition to being a thespian, artist, and righter-of-wrongs, he is an all-round good guy.

He even bought lunch.
