Midsummer Chronophage...
... or the creepiest clock you will ever see. The mechanical insect on top walks step by step on the first circle of the clock, in step with the golden pendulum at the bottom, it also blinks and chomps its jaws. The time is shown by blue light in the slits of the inner circles.
Also, the insect stops or slows down sometimes because 'The idea behind the Chronophage was to represent the concept of relative time. The Midsummer Chronophage was designed to sometimes stop or slow down to show everyone experiences time differently' More information here.
If you want to see it and believe me it's stunning, it's on display in the National Museum of Scotland until mid January.
