What Do I See

Train Ride #1

We headed off to Milton Keynes today to get the last of the Christmas shopping done. The idea was that Oliver was going to be really, really good, like he has never been before. Angelic was what was requested. We knew it was going to be a big ask, traipsing around the shops, busy, doing things he doesn't like. The reward was going to be a ride on the train they have in the shopping centre, in return for his good behaviour.

We got to the shopping centre about an hour before the shops could start selling things (though browsing time starts well before then). It was busy, like proper busy, like a normal day. No shops open yet!

We ended up doing the train before we went into any shops...Fail on our part! We showed our cards too soon!

The fun didn't end there. After the shops opened, and we started our tour around we bumped into one of Oliver's class mates and his dad. Their youngest, a 3 year old, ran off and they couldn't find him. Every parents nightmare. We split up and started the search. Before long the police were called, and they, along with the shopping centre treated with a very high degree of importance. Within minutes as I was looking for him, I was passing security guards on the look out, police touring around, some waiting by exits keeping an eye out. I looked outside and saw police cars touring around looking for him.

After about 45 minutes I came across a member of the public that had offered to help look for him, with him, and a couple of police officers. He was as happy as anything on a little ride he had found. Some passers by had spotted him on his own.

The family were reunited and after a few words, and a good number of cuddles I think they decided to call it a day. There is only so much excitement you can have in one day

After the excitement we went on our way. Oliver was as good as gold, being dragged around the shopping centre looking for his classmate's brother, never complained, and tried to be helpful. Afterwards he got a bit more fractious.

Didn't find what we went there for though.

Bugger....
