Hidden gems

I felt a little bit sheepish looking for some explanation on this unassuming stone. I did wonder if it was a leftover from a discarded building. In fact, it was donated in 2005 to recognise Serafino di Felice, a leading figure in what we know as Ancoats, but was once Little Italy. It was lovely to find an unexpected window on history en route to the hip hop chip shop. Fabulous afternoon eating great food and laughing until my cheeks ached with the gang (see extras). And one of them gave me extra giggles by pointing out a now corrected typo in my report of a giant duck race.
