Sicilian Adventure - Day 2!

Mount Etna and the Teatro Greco, Taormina, Sicily

What a stunning day, couldn’t have wished for better weather or a more beautiful location!

First visit of the day was to the 3000 year old Ancient Greek Theatre, overlooking the rooftops of Taormina, the Ionian Sea, and snow-capped Mount Etna, followed by a stroll through the town’s medieval streets.

Back to base to prepare a picnic lunch then the local bus up the mountain to the tiny village of Castelmola, overlooking Taormina with amazing views in all directions. We spent a lovely lazy afternoon in the village, soaking up the sun, the atmosphere and the views, before taking the footpath that wound its way steeply back down to Taormina.

An hour later, we arrived back in Taormina, just in time to take a seat with a Prosecco and watch the sun go down and the world going by, enjoying their Sunday passeggiata...

(Sorry, dozens of extras, too many beautiful sights, and too tired (in a good way) to many any decisions. Thank you for your kind comments, stars and hearts for yesterday’s journal. Sorry for my blip absence...)
