Baptistry at St George's Cathedral

The baptistry was installed at St George's in 1905 to reassure the Eastern Churches who practise full immersion. It takes some of its design from the Jewish mikvah. From another angle  (extra) it resembles a tomb (baptism also symbolises dying).
