Blackthorn Beauty
Beautiful morning. I told Ollie dog that we were going butterfly hunting. So far this year I have only seen two, a brimstone patrolling last week and one that fluttered past before I could identify it.
We only had to step outside where the blackthorn in the hedge is in full bloom. Lovely to see a peacock immediately. I've chosen to blip an image showing the restrained beauty of the underside of its wings. I got a small white on a daisy and a tortoiseshell on a nettle. There were lots of other insects on the blackthorn, including various bees and hoverflies and my first beefly of the season.
