Project Number One
The on-line collage class instructor carefully lays out all the steps she uses to achieve her final image. I attempted to follow them, using mostly my own images; the mannequin face is donated by the teacher. There are a good 15 layers in this file, and I've used Snapseed, Brushwork and Art Studio Pro. As I said in my comments to the class, I'm not sure my image benefits from all these layers, but I sure have a new appreciation for the collages I've seen on line.
By the way, I do not usually use such bold colors; I find them somewhat scary and intimidating. I also find it hard to get past the original image, since I usually compose in the camera, or at least crop to what I want in the original. I guess I'm trying to say that I don't see possibilities when I take pictures, I see a finished composition. When I start messing with it I get confused. So I'm not sure these exercises will turn out to be something I'll stick with, but they are sure interesting. Not to mention time consuming.
