Thoroughbred

As a younger man I've backed horses with less life than this one...........

Part of my dislocation this weekend is that Calum is doing different hours. Yesterday rather than collecting him at 16:30 he was out until 20:00 as the Saturday Gang went out for a Christmas curry. This meant no beer with my pizza and a different shape to my Saturday. Today he's been working back on the train as a "Sherry Elf" - and he hates that I refer to him as such. He's dishing out the drinks on the Santa Specials which means that he's not covered in grease when I collect him but his finish time is not more predictable because they don't always run to time (whisper that!).

As with last year they have a fair at Tenterden Town station and the centrepiece is this wonderful carousel (I nearly used "You'll never walk alone" as the title of this blip but felt it might be a bit obscure and not all would get it).

And now I'm watching Sports Personality of the Year and I keep having something in my eye - it's been that kind of year in British sport hasn't it? The Ryder Cup, Aguerooooooooooooooooo, the London Olympics, the Paralympics, Ellie Simmonds, Katherine Grainger, Wiggo - and we may win a test series in India!

No school tomorrow so I feel I should have a glass of Soave to celebrate whatever anyone feels it is appropriate to celebrate - Santé

PS - Check this big boy in bad (or something)
