Do not forget that if you decide to accompany your 14-year old daughter into town on the 2nd last Saturday before Christmas, at least half-an-hour of your visit will be spent queuing to get into a shop where everything is dark, and you squidge around having to grope through racks of clothing, all of which is approximately a tiny size just so that she can buy something for herself in case it's not available in the sale, at which point it would be half the price anyway.

Phew, I was glad to escape!
