Touched with gold

On my way home after work, I rode through part of the Auckland Domain. I saw a group of people kicking a football around, apparently playing some new form of football. I stopped to get a photo, which is posted as an extra.

I changed cameras and went to Western Springs Lake and took photos of quite a lot of birds, to go with the one I took out my office window of a goldfinch. Our pick of those taken at Western Springs is the main photo for today. This Karuhiruhi (Pied Shag) was drying its wings in the wind, and getting added drying power from the sun.
