Pip...
...or to give it’s proper name The 1914 Star. Awarded to my grandfather for services rendered to King and country during WW1. Something special to celebrate Tiny Tuesdays 200th challenge.
This bronze medal award was authorised by King George V in April 1917 for those who had served in France or Belgium between 5th August 1914 to midnight on 22nd November 1914 inclusive.
I’m the proud custodian of his medals...he was awarded Squeak and Wilfred too, though Wilfred is MIA and will need to be replaced.
Workmen arrived early doors to rip up the tiles and underfloor heating in the conservatory...the feathered alarm obviously thought I was going to sleep in as it rattled the window for about an hour before my alarm was due to go off! It’s a lovely sunny day here but still decidedly chilly and too breezy to take the macro into the garden.
Thanks to dbifulco for hosting this month.
PS...as many of you guessed yesterday’s object was an adjustable spanner :)
