Tea and chat
I had a wonderful day with my fabulous friend Lisa. We had coffee and chatter, met local craftspeople, bought Christmas presents, chatted some more, walked back to my flat, had some tea, Whisky befriended Lisa (he normally runs away from guests), we chatted some more, met Fred at the station, went for dinner at The Rosendale, had great conversation and then we parted with cheer and smiles.
Lisa's doing a wonderful thing this Christmas - she's volunteering at Crisis in the woman's centre over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, plus the 27th. She'll be looking after women who come to the centre for shelter. Last year, she met a young Polish nanny who'd been chucked out on the streets by her host family for registering herself as working (they hadn't registered her) and an old lady who lived in bus shelters for most of the year. I don't normally share sponsorship links, but if you're looking for a good cause to donate to that will give someone a warm, safe place to stay over Christmas, here's Lisa's sponsorship page.
