An Indulgence

A new Bose Soundlink Mini II Bluetooth portable speaker.
I've had the Mk I version for a good few years and been delighted with it - however - recently it had taken to shutting itself down for no apparent reason.  Dialogue with Bose could not come up with a solution other than take it to a Bose Service Agent for diagnosis and possible repair, the cost of which was approaching the cost of a new (Mk II) unit. 
This is the trouble with modern electronics, replace - not repair.  :-(
