Who Forgot To Lock The Lock Before The Top Lock?

Wheelton on the Leeds-Liverpool Canal today. 

Bit of a weird day as it couldn't make up its mind on whether it should be sunny or overcast, played havoc with my WB. Which is to say nothing of my not being able to photograph any of the locks.... grrr! 

Gave up in the end and walked back up the long rise to the pub (also called The Top Lock. Ta dah! Quelle surprise. 

Once seated and awaiting my fish and chips lunch, I noticed the walls were adorned with many a fine print of the rise of locks. Lovely they were too. After a brief contemplation, I realised where I had gone wrong: the photographer knew what s/he was doing. Tsk tsk. As simple as that. Hah!
