Lighthouse

This is the oldest building in Caloundra. It was originally built in 1896, when everything around it was open land. Then, in 1968, it was replaced with a more up-to-date and higher version. The newer one looks like an airport tower.

Then, the Lion's Club of Caloundra decided it was rather sad that the original lighthouse wasn't still there so they put it back together again, in it's original position. I don't know where it was stored but it was saved in bits and pieces. Sort of like an Ikea lighthouse.

Now, neither of them really have a clear view out to sea, being surrounded (almost) by multi storey holiday flats. The best thing about them is their position. being on the highest part of Caloundra means there's nearly always a breeze. And when the temperature is like it is today, that can only be a good thing.
