One Night Stop

Though it was a lovely peaceful place we were glad it was only for one night...no Wi-Fi and no alcohol...a bit much.... anyway this was the view from the open air dining room with a tweak!

A bit about our regular transport. The group of 10 plus our guide, Surendra, travel in 4 taxis, all immaculate every day. Numbered 1 to 4, the drivers stay in strict order, never overtaking each other...very hierarchical.

Today's journey to Palampur was fantastic. In an attempt to avoid the new motorway construction which held us up badly a few days ago, our driver Ramesh ( car 4) who comes from this area offered to lead the other three taxis by the most beautiful narrow mountain road. It took us through valleys, tiny villages, over rivers and farmland. For Ramesh, it was great. He even bought a new hat for the occasion. He is getting pretty fed up always playing catchup with the other 3 cars. See extra for a photo of our drivers. Ramesh is on the right wearing a hat. I think you can see from the body language that he feels a bit left out.
