Kirkstone Pass
Departure Day. Instead of heading straight up the road we toured around the Southern Lakes via Coniston, ending up at Hill Top Farm which Beatrix Potter bought and lived in. The garden is laid out as in the stories. While the famous vegetable patch is somewhat bare other parts of the garden are producing colour. See extra of the quince bush.
Then off to Tarn Hows where my wife was able to use a motorised buggy to “walk” round the tarn. Some spectacular views despite the less than sunny weather.
Then on to Ambleside and over the Kirkstone pass to Ullswater. En route I managed to stop to take the main blip. But the view Looking towards Brotherswater - the final extra - was as impressive.
Home and the usual catching up with post, shopping and tidying up ready for work tomorrow.
