In Bloom

The little tree out front has sprung back to life and not only become green again, but also the little pink buds have sprouted. I think I like spring more than summer ;-)

A busy day today. I had to be up early for dancing practice- they've shifted all the practices to mornings instead of afternoon's! After two hours I rushed home, picked up some groceries and saw Lou as she had come for lunch and a play. When she was proffered to me when I opened the door, she smiled and leaned towards me to give me a kiss :-)

She had some lunch and then I had to leave to meet a friend. Although we've spoken on the phone nearly every day (and she only lives down the road!) I haven't seen her for at least six weeks or so, due to being infectious. It was so lovely to see her but there was no denying the suffering caused by the chemo. Although she has technically kept her hair, it was very thin, and a stark reminder of how much cancer really sucks.

She was thrilled to be out in the fresh air and sunshine, and we walked very slowly to the local pub where we sat outside and had a coffee. Well, she had a well-deserved gin and tonic!

Fingers crossed her op goes well in about ten days time- hopefully then she'll be further ahead towards being well again.

I can't decide if that's realistic or not, but I'm going with it until somebody says otherwise.

I really wanted to try the gym tonight although my shoulder is so sore, but after a chilly walk in the fresh air I came home shattered!
