The Maelstrom

A beautiful day and we docked into Bodø where we took a trip out to Saltstraumen. This strait between two fjords has one of the strongest tidal currents in the world. It was beautifully calm when we were there but it was mesmerising watching the whirls and flows of the water. We then sailed into the Lofoten islands where we had a fascinating tour of a micro brewery there (with tasting...hic), before a trip into the majestic trollfjord at night complete with a local hot toddy drink (which tasted pretty much 100% proof but was very warming out in the snow)!
