Sweet Violet

A trip out to Bainton Churchyard to enjoy the stunning display of primroses and sweet violets, including this rare apricot variety Viola odorata var. sulfurea. I then followed a public footpath across the railway and had a sneaky visit to Bainton Pits , which is managed by the Langdyke Trust, where I updated some plant records for the BSBI 2020 flora, many of them not seen since the 1970's.
