We gotta lotta bottle!

After some local (water) pressure, Scottish Water declared their new water fountain open in Station Square today. 

Bottles were handed out, people filled them at the tap and the Oban High School Pipe Band supplied the music! 

There has been a lot of discussion locally by a group set up to try to reduce the use of single-use plastics and this is one of their first successes. 'Don't buy bottled water - our tap water is perfectly drinkable!' 

We hope that there will be more public bottle-filling stations (aka taps) in town in the future.

On the way home, walking up Jacob's Ladder, I spotted a white-patched blackbird for the second time and on this occasion was able to get a picture. That'll teach him to paint the ceiling without his overall on!
