The place where we were staying, Butihondo, was basically just a few hotels, a tennis centre and supermarket.

This far south in Fuertaventura there is very little cultivation; the ground is sandy or rock-strewn. We did ask about excursions but they seemed to be designed to introduce you to the delights of  goat or aloe vera farms, and were expensive, hence the taxi trips out instead.
