End Of The Day

It has been a while since I featured a sunset photograph - not for lack of great sunsets here in Zihuatanejo, but because our busy retired schedule has us otherwise engaged at sunset time. Tonight we made a special effort to be on the beach as the sun went down. Normally, my sunset images are filled with deep, golden colors, but today I was struck by the monochromatic nature of this image. I like how the composition is simplified and I think the almost black and white tones serve to intensify the effect of this sunset. I had to wait patiently for the boat to line up with the sun and have a number of images without that particular design element, which are not near as effective.
